What type of aluminum is used?
Let’s cover the basics first, you’ll need to buy the kind of aluminum that’s sold in rolls. Once you’ve got it, you’ve got two choices, either take it to an aluminum products dealer and have them bend it to the dimensions you need, or take it to a garage door specialist and have them bend it and fit it to your garage door. Personally, I’d always go with the garage door specialist, after all, they are experts in their field!

Garage doors are expensive, so it’s no wonder you want to keep them in top condition for as long as possible. Well, by adding aluminum cladding you’ll be able to spend more time enjoying your garden and less time maintaining your garage door. Aluminum doesn’t rust or fade, and all you’ll need to do is give it a wipe down with soapy water every once in a while.

This point is somewhat linked to the last one, but in addition to reducing maintenance time, aluminum cladding will also protect your garage door from the elements, so it won’t rot! Even more value for your money!
Increased Curb Appeal
This one is particularly important if you’re thinking about selling your home, but also, everyone wants their house to be the envy of the street, right? Well, garage doors take up a LOT of space (like 40% of your home’s façade), so if you add aluminum cladding that fits in with the style of your home, your house is going to look so much nicer than next door with their peeling paint…
Smooth Finish
Cover the joint between the weatherstripping on the frame and the exterior finish using a flexible sealant designed for cold‑weather use. This will give you a smooth finish and really is just the icing on the cake!
